Voice of Faith April 4, 2017

Auction April 1st: We had a wonderful turnout for our auction! It was an amazing day!  Thank you to everyone who came, volunteered, spent money, and prayed! Our location was amazing. I want to thank Philip and Kelly Gardner for arranging Connections Community Church! We are still waiting on final #’s because the auctioneer had a family emergency right after the auction.  I am hoping we can meet today.  God is so good! He continues to bless our school and He provides so that we can continue to grow our ministry! Many thanks to everyone for all of your hard work.  So happy to be able to serve with each of you!

Student Council Anti-Bullying Campaign:  The Student Council will be sponsoring an Anti-Bullying Campaign this week.  They will be focusing on the effects of bullying, characteristics of bullying, dealing with a bully, minimize being a target, and how not to be a bully.  Informed students have a greater chance in making wise decisions.  Students can sponsor a pinwheel ($2 each pinwheel) that will be placed in the front lawn of the school.  All proceeds will go to the Shenandoah Women’s Shelter.  The shelter helps battered women and their children by giving them a safe place to stay and help them transition back to a life free from violence.  Students are encouraged to wear a red shirt on Thursday to make a stand against violence.

On Friday,  students will be given an Anti-Bullying Pledge card to sign and bring home.  Bullying can be seen in all areas of life.  Our goal is that by standing together we can make a difference.  Please keep this event in prayer that God will work in the lives of our students.

Library Happenings:  Parents of K-5th grader – Check your child’s mailbag for a green reading calendar.  The library is sponsoring a reading challenge for the month of April.  Please have your child color in each day that he/she reads at least 10 minutes. Send the calendar back to school at the end of the month. Every student who reads at least 15 days will receive a free Chipotle kid’s meal card with a bookmark.
