Voice of Faith October 1, 2018

3rd Annual Fall Festival: We had beautiful weather for our festival!  Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy the festivities!  A special thank you to all of our volunteers for helping to make this such a wonderful event for our school!

Pink Out: This week the Student Council is sponsoring the “Praying for the Cure!” campaign.  Each day there will be a different prayer emphasis and we would like to encourage families to participate at home by praying along with us.  Prayer emphases are:  Monday – Cancer Patients, Tuesday – Cancer Survivors, Wednesday – Caregivers/Family, Thursday – Doctors, Friday – Research Institutes.  Elementary students are encouraged to decorate a card to be given to cancer patients at the Cancer/Infusion Center at the Dorothy McCormick Center.

PINK OUT!!!!!!

On Friday, October 5th, students, employees, and parents are encouraged to wear PINK to school to show our support for cancer victims.  Students may dress down as long as they are wearing pink and their clothing is modest and within the dress down guidelines.  GAME TIME…….

Student Council would like to encourage our families to come to the games on Friday against Shalom!!!!!  Our Pink Out will continue into game time!!!!!!  Cancer patients/survivors will get in free that night.  There will be a special time of prayer before the varsity volleyball and soccer games (volleyball @ approx. 6:40 and soccer @ approx.. 4:45).  Our goal is to encourage those whose lives have been touched by cancer.

Acceptable Dress for Dress Down Day:    If in doubt, Don’t wear it out!

FCA 29th Annual Auction:  We are very excited to bring our auction back to the fall.  You should have received your invitation last week in the mail.  We hope that you can join us this year for our Faithopoly Benefit Auction on November 9th at the Holiday Inn from 6-9.

We are doing things a little different this year.  We are asking for donations of items that are either new or gently used for the auction.  This is a perfect time to recycle that Christmas or birthday gift that you received and get a tax donation at the same time:).  Our committee has put together a list of suggested items for baskets that we are going to put together. If you have something on the list please sign up and drop off your items at the office.  Click here for a list of ideas:)

If you are interested in joining our auction committee email jen.stanley@faithchristianacademy.net..  Tickets for the event can be purchased at https://fcafaithopoly.eventbrite.com.

Martins A+ for Education:  This is a different program than the Cash for Causes program.  This program tracks your spending via your Bonus card and donates money to the school.  YOU must register your card online at MartinsFoods.com.  Don’t forget to register, so that FCA gets credit.  This is a great way to give back without spending a penny.

Attendance:  Absentee notes can be emailed to Mrs. Joy Hobbs at joy.hobbs@faithchristianacademy.net.  Please be aware that parents will not be notified if a note is not submitted.  It is the responsibility of the parent or student to communicate with the teachers concerning absences and make up work.

From the Guidance Office:  We will offer several tests through FCA this year. There will be more specific information on each test when registration opens for them:

  • PSAT – offered to 10th and 11th graders. We will have some extra spaces this year and will offer them to any 9th graders that are interested. Oct 10th.
  • ASVAB – offered to 11th graders to give them career feedback. Feb 20th.
  • New this year! ACT and SAT – we will be offering the ACT and SAT each once on campus at FCA this year. The ACT will be offered on Feb 20th. The SAT will be offered in the spring, the exact date is TBD. More information to come.
