Mr. Brock Keppley

Bible 9, Bible 12, Geometry 10, & Dean of Students 

Mr. Brock Keppley was born and raised in Womelsdorf, Pennsylvania.  He graduated from Conrad Weiser High School.  He then attended Appalachian Bible College and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Bible and Pastoral Studies.  A year after he graduated from college he, and his wife, Amy, were married.  They then moved to Illinois, where he was a youth pastor at a small Bible church for four years.

While in Illinois he was given the opportunity to teach at a small Christian school.  At this time he felt God calling him into the teaching ministry full-time.  He then moved to West Virginia and began teaching at Faith in 2003.  His wife Amy teaches kindergarten at Faith. They have three sons.

“I enjoy the opportunity to influence students to grow in their Christian life.  I also have a great love for students and those are the two big reasons why I feel God has led me into the teaching ministry.”

Mrs. Sheri Cooper

High School Art & Librarian

Sheri Cooper was raised in Damascus, MD.  She graduated from Damascus High School where her father taught shop and drafting.  She now lives in Jefferson County with husband.  Mrs. Cooper is the librarian at FCA and teaches art.

She has a Regents Bachelors of Arts degree with an emphasis in library science from Shepherd University and is working on her Masters of Education degree from Cedarville University

Mr. Brian Hobbs

High School Physical Education, Athletic Director, & Guidance Director

Coach Hobbs grew up in Williamstown, NJ where he attended Victory Christian School. He graduated from Clarks Summit University in Clarks Summit, Pa with a major in Bible with an emphasis in physical education and health. He did his graduate work at West Virginia University and holds a master’s degree in sport management. He and his wife Joy have three children who all attend Faith.

He is in Christian ministry because the Lord got a hold of his life through Christian high school and college athletics. He had wonderful coaches and teachers that greatly influenced his life. His passion is to do the same for the young people at Faith.

Mr. Jason Crawford

Bible 10,  Advanced Band/Strings & Praise Team

Jason Crawford is our Band/Orchestra Director who also teaches Bible and music at FCA.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in music education from Alderson-Broaddus College (now Alderson-Broaddus University) in Philippi, West Virginia and a master’s degree in composition from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.  In his long and varied career, Jason has been an inner-city public school music teacher, a Christian school educator, an assistant pastor, a minister of music, a private lesson instructor, and even a collegiate instructor of music theory and composition. He is an accomplished pianist, percussionist, conductor, composer, arranger, producer, clinician, educator, and worship leader.  Mr. Crawford is also the minister of music at Westview Baptist Church in Martinsburg.  He and his wife Anna live in Martinsburg, and their three children all attend FCA.

“The Lord has moved me around many times in service to Him, and I’ve been privileged over the years to serve in ministry and to teach in several schools,” Mr. Crawford explains.  “Faith Christian Academy is by far the best school I’ve ever been associated with in any way. My earnest prayer is that God will allow me the honor of serving on this staff for many happy years to come. I want to build into the lives of young people by delivering educational and musical excellence while encouraging them to be all they can be for the glory of God alone.”

Ms. Jennifer Mann

High School Choir

Jennifer Mann has three sons.  The eldest two have graduated from Faith and Shepherd University.  She was born and raised in Martinsburg, WV.  After graduating from Heritage Academy in Maryland, she received her Bachelor Degree from Covenant College in Lookout Mt., Georgia.   She is currently teaching  high school choir, elementary music, and two middle school classes.

“As a graduate from a Christian high school and college, I am committed to Christian education.  I am thankful for the opportunity to share my faith and encourage young people in their walk with Christ.  Music is one of the greatest gifts God has given us and I have the privilege of enjoying it every day as I teach for Him.”

Mrs. Holly Romine

World History 9, US History I 10, US History II 11, American Government 12 & Bible 11

Mrs. Holly Romine was born in Cumberland, Maryland.  However, her family moved shortly thereafter and she spent her childhood in Towson, Maryland, just outside Baltimore. She earned her undergraduate degree from Shepherd College where she majored in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Social Science. She taught for five years in the public school system at James Wood and Sherando High Schools in Winchester, Virginia. Upon the birth of her first child, Mrs. Romine elected to stay home full-time.  Mrs. Romine’s began teaching at Faith in 2002.  Romine is married and has two children who graduated from Faith: Samuel in 2015 and Ally in 2016.

“I feel truly blessed to be able to serve the Lord through teaching here at Faith Christian Academy. I am excited to be a part of assisting parents in their task of raising their children in the “nurture and admonition of the Lord”. For the first time in my teaching career, I have been able to fully integrate my love for the Lord with my love of teaching. I am privileged to be a part of the school and its mission.”

Mr. Jason Swinehart

Computer 9, High School Advanced Computer, & IT Director

Mr. Swinehart has a bachelor’s degree in Bible with an emphasis in Youth Ministry from Baptist Bible College.  Mr. Swinehart also minored in Physical Education for two years before turning his full focus on Youth Ministry.  He received his masters degree in curriculum and instruction from Baptist Bible Graduate School and Seminary.  He has worked at church camps as a counselor and churches as an intern and interim youth pastor.  He currently is teaching 7-12 grade Bible and upper elementary physical education.

Mr. Swinehart grew up in Durand, Michigan and is married to an alumnus of FCA, Heather.  They moved to West Virginia in 2004 and were involved at Independent Bible Church.  They are currently working with the youth group at Centerpoint Bible Church.  They live in Martinsburg with their children Chloe, Elias, Chara, and Tytus.

“Going to a Christian school for a majority of my elementary and middle school years, I know how influential Bible class can be to students.  It is a privilege and a great honor to be teaching the Word of God to the students of FCA.”

Mrs. Heather Mann

Biology, Environmental Science, Anatomy & Physiology

Mrs. Heather Mann grew up in Martinsburg, West Virginia and graduated from Martinsburg High School. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Shepherd University with a major in Chemistry and a minor in Biology.  Mrs. Mann married her husband and former graduate of Faith, Benjamin Mann, in 2009.  They have three young sons, Solomon, Abram and Ezra.  Mrs. Mann teaches Life Science, Environmental Science, Earth Science, Biology, and Anatomy & Physiology at Faith.  Mrs. Mann started teaching at Faith in 2012.

“I was blessed to have the opportunity to stay home after our second son was born in 2011.  During this time, I really felt the Lord leading me to the teaching ministry at FCA.  I hope to encourage these young people to be confident in their faith as they learn and grow into young adults.  It is exciting to be able to show students God’s magnificent creation every day through science.”

Mrs. Ila Carper

English 9, English 10, English 11, English 12, Speech 11, Career Class 11 & High School Drama

Mrs. Carper is a lifelong resident of West Virginia and presently resides in Bunker Hill.  She and her husband, Gene, have three adult children who are Christian-school graduates. Mrs. Carper earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing from West Virginia University, but after much prayer, consideration, and time, she heeded the Lord’s calling into teaching.

Mrs. Carper brings more than twenty years of teaching experience in Christian education. For the past fifteen years, she taught English at Shenandoah Valley Christian Academy.

“Teaching and nurturing young men and women, both academically and spiritually, are vital aspects of developing responsible and mature individuals. I am very blessed and privileged to be used by the Lord to impact young lives for Him.”

Mr. Larry Kerns

Physical Science, Chemistry, Physics, Algebra II, & Statistics

Larry Kerns grew up in Inwood, WV.  He attended Faith Christian Academy from the seventh grade and graduated in 2010. He received his bachelors of science degree from West Virginia University in physics in 2014. He serves as the assistant coach to varsity boys soccer, varsity girls basketball, and varsity and middle school track and field.

“Mr. Adels was one of my favorite teachers and one of the reasons that I became a teacher. I wanted to teach at FCA because of the Christian education and having the opportunity to help young Christians learn more than just science and math. I know the impact that a teacher can have on students and my desire is to be a positive spiritual impact for the students every day.” His favorite verse is Psalm 91:2. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust”.

Mrs. Monika DaughertyDaugherty, Monika

Pre-Calculus, Calculus & Geometry 9

Monika Daugherty was born in Indiana but raised in New Zealand as a missionary kid.  She moved back to the US to attend college in 1999.  She graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in Bible from Appalachian Bible College before going on to earn her Bachelor of Science in math education at Concord University.  She married Rob Daugherty (Coach Rob) right after graduation. Since then, she has spent time teaching both on the high school and community college level, as well as homeschooling for six years; she and Rob have four daughters.

“I went to Christian school most of my life, and now it brings me a lot of joy to be teaching in that environment.  I love the small, more intimate classroom setting, and it’s such a blessing to have Christ at the center of our students’ educations. It’s an honor to help these young men and women as they bridge that gap between childhood and adulthood. I love them dearly and pray that each one of them will follow God when they leave Faith for college or work and beyond.”

Mrs. Abby Hill

High School Health

Mrs. Abby Hill grew up in Petersburg, WV.  She earned her black belt in Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do at the age of nine.  She attended Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, VA and played basketball her freshman year.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education and a minor in Coaching.  She married her husband Mike directly after college and moved to Martinsburg.  She taught elementary PE for six years in the Frederick County, VA public school system.  Mrs. Hill and her husband have two daughters, Kiersten and Kari.

Her favorite verse is Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”

Mrs. Karla Macias

Foreign Language (9th & 10th grade)

Mrs. Macias was born and raised in El Paso, Texas.  She attended the University of Texas at El Paso and received a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a major in Early Childhood Education and a Bilingual certification.

Mrs. Macias grew up in a Christian home where her grandfather was a pastor.  Her heart has always been tugged toward serving God and teaching.  “I am passionate about planting seeds in children’s hearts that will grow and multiply – a hundred, sixty or thirty fold what was sown.”

After graduating from the University, God called her to be home with her children.   Her family began the journey of homeschooling.  She has also taught in Christian private schools, worked part-time in a public school and has been a substitute.

Mrs. Macias resides in Inwood, WV with her husband and 3 daughters.   She feels blessed to have this opportunity to teach children and freely minister to children of all ages.
