FCA 2020 Fall Re-Opening Plans and Guidelines
Dear Faith Families: I trust this email finds your family well and enjoying your summer. The focus of this email is the re-opening plans for Faith Christian Academy for the start of the 2020-2021 school year. It is important that you know that these plans have been developed only after consultation with the local health department, a review of CDC guidelines, a review of the West Virginia State Department of Education’s plan, input from no less than ten other Christian schools, and approval of our board of directors and leadership team.
We are working with Berkeley County Schools to access the federal funding provided through the “Cares Act.” That funding will provide cleaning supplies and machinery as well as technology for our students. It is important to note that these funds do not come directly to our school so we are not bound by the federal strings that would be attached. We simply order items through the county that we are then able to utilize to make our schools safer and healthier.
You also need to understand that this global pandemic continues to be a fluid situation and changes will be made as needed. In fact, some of the detail is “to be announced” because we will need to see the recommendations at the time school starts in just over eight weeks.
Please take the time to read this through thoroughly. I know that there will be those who have concerns and questions. I will do my best to answer those; however, many details will be determined as we get closer to August.
Please click here for our current plan.
We are planning to send the “Student Supply Lists” and the Revisions to the Family Handbook tomorrow. Please look for that email and other summer communications.
In Christ’s Service,
