Faithopoly Auction:  A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out for our 29th annual auction!  Thank you for making it a WONDERFUL SUCCESSFUL event!  We were able to raise $17,000!  Our school is beyond blessed by our families.  Thank you for your support and prayers!  Another thank you to everyone who supported our teachers with a day off.  We were able to give 8 teachers a day off with pay!

One last  SHOUT OUT to  our awesome auction committee.  Without their help we wouldn’t have been able to pull this event together!

April Byers, Lou Eaves, Melody Engler, Abby Hill, Andrea Jenkins, Kristen LeMaster, Michelle Smith, Angie Timberlake, Barbara Tinsman & Damaris Versino!   Thank you ladies!

You can view pictures from the auction on our FB page.  Thank you Loriann Main for capturing the evening for us!

Christmas Bazaar:  Don’t forget this Friday 16th is our annual Christmas Bazaar.  We have special lunches offered by the Junior and Senior Classes.  Lunch slips were sent home last week. The Bazaar will be open to the public from 3:30PM to 7:00PM.  Come out and get a jump start on your Christmas shopping! We have over 34 vendors this year!

Pizza Lunch:  Reminder that there will not be pizza lunch next week, since we are having our Thanksgiving Feast.

E-Learning Day: West Virginia state law allows private schools to make up missed instructional days in ways they deem best. Several years ago we began a policy of making up days from time to time with something we call “Falcon Folders” or “E-Learning.” Because we missed a scheduled day of school on Monday, November 5, we will use a Falcon Folder/E-Learning day on Wednesday, November 21. The school will be closed but attendance will be marked in Renweb based on completion of assignments. Scheduling this day at that time will allow students plenty of time to complete their assignments.  It also seems more desirable than taking a day away from a vacation period such as Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Teachers at all grade levels will create assignments and communicate them no later than Monday, November 19 at 3:30 p.m. Special considerations are given to elementary students who are not independent learners by presenting lessons focusing on reinforcement and integration of skills that are regularly provided during instructional days. Secondary students will be provided with reinforcement and integration of content learning activities, as well as application of skills in all subject areas.

Teachers in elementary grades may use Falcon Folders (physical folders containing assignments) or E-learning activities communicated by email or even through Google Classroom if available for their classrooms. Most secondary teachers will use Google classroom as all secondary students have received Gmail addresses from the school.

All assignments will be due on Monday, November 26 at class time. This will give students an entire week to complete assignments.  If you have questions about this policy feel free to email me. If you have questions about specific assignments please communicate with your child’s teacher(s).

Falcon Band & Orchestra Concert: Make plans to join us for the Falcon Band & Orchestra’s 3rd Annual Fall Preview Concert on Wednesday, November 28th at 2:00 in the FCA gymnasium. This 30-minute concert gives our audience a sneak peek at the great things happening musically in our advanced band and strings classes this year. Upper elementary students will attend the concert, and parents and the public are invited too. Come celebrate the musical talent and hard work of our middle-school and high-school instrumentalists.

Christmas Concert: Please make plans to join us on Monday, December 3rd, at 7:00pm at Airborne Church, 172 Creative Place, Martinsburg, WV 25401. Student performers should arrive by 6:45. Although previously announced the requested attire of “Sunday Best”, we want the students to look good, it’s also important that they be comfortable and that they have full range of motion. Tennis shoes, khakis, and a Christmas-colored sweater may help your student perform more easily than a fancy dress with uncomfortable dress shoes. We are trusting parents to make the best clothing choice for their children; either is acceptable.

At the concert, you’ll be given an opportunity to participate in our Christmas Love Offering. This offering is used to give our faculty and staff a nice Christmas bonus.

Dress for the weather: The weather is turning colder, and students need to be properly dressed for outdoor recess.  We will get the students outside for fresh air as much as possible.
